The 2013 Adidas Predator LZ II website Sportando.net first reported the news. Datome will sign a two-year, $3.5 million contract to become the newest member of the Pistons, according to Sportando.net. He is an outstanding shooter who averaged 16.4 points and 5.6 Nike free 3.0 V5 in Italys top leagueone of the best in Europe. He shot 46.7 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from the 3-point line, as well as making 92.6 percent of his foul shots. Fran Fraschilla, former NCAA coach and ESPN international draft expert, told Sporting that Datome, was a marginal NBA prospect as a draft-eligible player (when he was 22), but he has improved. He is a small forward who is a deceptively good athlete, and a good open shooter. He made more than 39 percent from the international line. Datome had reportedly gotten interest from the Celtics and Grizzlies, but did not come to terms with either. The Pistons earlier signed small forward Josh Smith to a four-year, $56 million contract, and figure to play him at power forward at times alongside Datome.
